North Carolina Agricultural Education

Professional Development Workshop Series

Introduction

The 2015 Agricultural Education Professional Development Workshop Series offers 20 in-service education opportunities this summer, plus workshops offered through the NC State University Horticultural Science Department, North Carolina A & T State University, and REAL Entrepreneurship. These workshops are designed to make you a more effective teacher and manager of a successful agricultural education program. However, these workshops will only be successful if you choose to participate. You are encouraged to make plans to participate in these professional development workshops this summer.

Process

As you review these workshop opportunities, you are strongly encouraged to visit with your principal and Career Technical Education Director. Their involvement and support of your professional development activities is critical. They are welcome to register and participate as well. Please note that you are welcome to attend workshops anywhere in the state. The regional distribution of workshops has been done in an effort to reduce your travel time to workshops and to ensure access for all agricultural education teachers.

The registration form enclosed in this guide is due on May 15, 2015. It is critical that you register by May 15 so workshop presenters can be confirmed for the workshops. Any workshops that are not sufficiently filled by May 15 will be cancelled. All questions regarding workshops should be forwarded to the contact person for each workshop selection.

Registration for the REAL Agricultural Entrepreneurship workshops must be done on-line. All middle and high School agricultural education teachers are encouraged to attend one of these workshops.
