PERSONAL INTERESTS

I have been fascinated by languages since my teenage years, and have also long been an admirer of the Mediterranean way of life. My choice of career options and of successive places of residence has been heavily influenced by both factors.

I try to keep up with current affairs and with a wide range of economic and social questions, and I take an active interest in cultural and historical subjects. Apart from that, I enjoy good wholesome food and wine, music, books and cinema, country walks and travelling.

Like many linguists, however, among the activities I most enjoy is simply using the languages I speak on an everyday basis, which obviously makes translating a very attractive activity.
