In June 1987 as Head of the Project Management Department put together the Task Force of approximately 460 people for the Project Management Contract for the North South Railroad for VALEC ENGENHARIA E CONSTRUÇÕES LTDA, a subsidiary of CVRD, encompassing the Project Management of all of the aspects of the basic engineering, topographic surveys, detailed engineering, procurement, Construction Management, inspections and commissioning, etc. for a 1600 kilometer, $2.4 billion job. Unfortunately the funding ran out before the completion of the job.
2) Engevix Engenharia S.A.
In February 1986 was transferred to São Luis, Maranhão
Project Manager for the CARAJÁS RAILWAY contract with CVRD for technical and administrative support for the operation of the recently inaugurated 900 km railway, including recruiting, selecting and training of all of the railway employees, topographic surveys and detail engineering designs of new spur lines, preparation of norms, procedures and specifications (450 employees)
3) Engevix Engenharia S.A.
In July 1985, transferred to São Paulo, São Paulo
Project coordinator for the electromechanical engineering detail design of the Baghdad, Iraq Subway system for Lots 13 and 14, in Baghdad, Iraq for BRTA - BAGHDAD RAPID TRANSIT AUTHORITY – encompassing 11 km of tunnels and 11 stations. Duties included participation in Technical meetings in Iraq and in England, as well as all aspects of the electromechanical design of the systems and stations
4) In January 1984 Transferred to Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul
- Construction Manager of the Implementation of the superstructure and systems of the Porto Alegre Metropolitan Rapid Transit Train System (TRENSURB) including the Track System, Signal System, Telecommunications, Substation and energy distribution, Traction System, Civil Construction of Stations, Civil Construction and Electromechanical installation of the Train Depot and Maintenance Yards for TRENSURB. Due to the illness of the Signaling Engineer accumulated his functions as well.
- assumed the function of General Manager of the Task Force for the implementation of the super-structure and systems of the Porto Alegre Metropolitan Rapid Transit Train System (TRENSURB) responsible for the Engineering Detail Design, and Project Management including the Planning and Construction for TRENSURB.
