Today’s Worship Plan

2 Corinthians 9:6-8 “...Whoever sows sparingly will also reap also sparingly and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.”… Please notice the offering box in the entranceway; where we cheerfully place our offerings in the collection box. Your contributions to God help us preach the Gospel here in Cedar Key, around the world and carry out works of benevolence to the glory of Christ our Lord.

Welcome Visitors and Members! We hope that your experience today will add something meaningful to your life in Christ Jesus. If you are new to the area and would like more information about this church, let us know. If you are just visiting our island community, then we hope to see you again. Would you like to confess your faith in Jesus Christ and repent of your sins today? Come forward during the last song and we will assist you in obeying Christ as Lord – or let us know your desire some other time. We can arrange a time for your baptism into Christ. If you are a Christian and wandered away from home with the Lord, you may make your desire known and we will pray for God to forgive your sins, and fully restore you to Jesus Christ and joyful fellowship with other Christians.

Bible question: What other words describes the nature of the Church? (Matthew 28:18; 1 Cor. 12:14, 27)

Do We Truly Love The Church?

“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himselfas a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.” (Ephesians 5:25-27 NIV)

How are people “set apart”? (Mark 16:15-16; Acts 22:16)

During these days we may hear people say something similar to this: “I love Jesus as my Savior, but I don’t feel comfortable going to church – or I don’t think church matters that much.”

What does the Lord mean when he teaches about the church in the New Testament? The church is God’s people around the world and in the local sense.

Greek: ekklesia – the primary meaning ‘called out’, as in ancient Greek society when a person would be called out to assist in settling a civil or criminal matter. In the Bible, the word is used to refer to people who have been called out of the world to serve the Lord Jesus Christ.

(2 Thess. 2:13-14; Eph. 1:2-23; Col. 1:18) Jesus Christ is the Head over each local church and wherever Christians are anywhere in the world.

(John 3:16, Romans 5:6-8) What should be our motive about being involved with the church? Nothing but pure love, like Christ Jesus.

(Acts 20:7; 1 Cor. 11:23-29; Heb. 10:25) Do we love the church to the extent that we make plans to assemble with the church every Lord’s Day?

(Eph. 4:3; Acts 2:41-41; 1 Cor. 3:16-17; John 17:20-21) Do we love church enough to pray for and work diligently for unity at local and worldwide level?

(Acts 8:4; Col. 1:23) So we love the church enough to have a burning desire to work hard in bringing other people into the Kingdom of God’s dear Son? DB
