IT Development Intern

Role details:
Title: / IT Development Intern – IT Investment Systems Development and IT Integrated Systems Development
Purpose: / BlueBay IT developers are required to analyse and develop changes to a variety of systems and reports. A number of these solutions are delivered to the Portfolio Managers who will make investment decisions based on the provision of information from the IT Development team

Main duties and responsibilities
In addition to the duties listed below, the successful candidate is expected to undertake such additional or alternative duties as are reasonably consistent with their role and capabilities.
Primary duties:
This role is to provide reporting solutions to a number of key areas throughout the BlueBay organization.
1.  Web Reporting team. The Web Reporting team have designed and built a portal which is the launch pad for a multitude of SQL reports using SSRS. The Web Reporting team are also responsible for the feeds into and out of the data warehouse along with relevant processes. These might be feeds from data providers into the system or extracts out to clients and third parties.
2.  Integration Team. This team is responsible for all messaging and integration between the systems to ensure a robust and stable operating platform for BlueBay.
Secondary duties:
·  Contribute ideas and/or implement changes towards continuous service improvements in the Development teams.
·  Work through (debug) code and data to identify source of problems and either resolve or escalate when issues arise.
·  Ensure the development WIKI/Knowledgebase is up to date with new documentation, processes, FAQs.
Experience and person skills required
The successful candidate must have demonstrable experience in:
·  Technologies used: SSRS, SQL including database tuning, C#, SSAS, SSIS.
·  Excellent communication skills, being able to liaise with a variety of business units from board level down.
·  Developers are expected to perform analysis, their own unit testing and be responsible for the release process between environments.
·  Source code management and knowledge of the development lifecycle.
