Since its foundation, the Institute has conducted research for general engineering problems and has collaborated with public and private organizations to improve the national engineering practice. The Institute pays special attention to the training of human resources, the encouragement of original scientific research, and the dissemination of its research results, contributing to the country’s development and the society’s welfare.
In order to strengthen its research staff,the Institute invites the national and international scientific community to submit nominations for the Emilio Rosenblueth Fellowship within the Postdoctoral Fellowship Program (PEP).
We are looking for a proactive specialist in renewable fuels, mainly CH4 and H2, with experience in microbial processes for energy production using biomass, wastewater or solid wastes.
The selected candidate will produce international quality research throughout basic and applied projects oriented to the practical solution of national problems. His or her duties will include the publication of results in refereed scientific journals, participation in national and international conferences, formulation and execution of research proposals, and training of technical staff by giving thesis advice (to bachelor, master and doctorate levels) and teaching at graduate level.
The candidate must:
- Possess a doctoral degree in engineering or a related discipline awarded after 2008.
- Possess scientific productivity in high impact international journals (e.g. ISI) with at least 3 refereed articles.
- Possess proven experience in teaching and advice students.
- Haveexperience in research projects.
- Show capacity for team work and outstanding oral and writing communication skills.
Selected candidates will get a net monthly payment of 2,000 US Dollars for a year which may be renewed yearly for two more years (three years maximum). Moreover, a fairly complete medical insurance and the travel fare from the actual residence will be covered by the IIUNAM.
