Leon High School Marine Corps Junior ROTC program, in conjunction with the Marine Corps League, is hosting the annual Leatherneck Invitational Golf Tournament at the FSU Seminole Golf Course. We are inviting anyone in the Tallahassee/Leon County community to assist us in our efforts to raise funds in order for us to continue to serve the community at the same levels as in the past.

Entry Fee:$75.00 per player ($300.00 per team)

We prefer that entries be made as a team of 4, but individual or partial team entries will be accepted. Individual entries and partial teams will be combined by the tournament hosts to form full teams.

RULES AND INFORMATION

TOURNAMENT INFORMATION:

  1. Date: 18 October 2013
  2. Check-in:7:00 AM
  3. Tee Off:Shotgun Start at 8:30 AM
  4. Location: Florida State University Seminole Golf Course
  5. Entry fee: $75.00 per individual ($300 per team)
  6. Entry Forms must be in by 04 October.

RULES

  1. Scramble Format
  2. TEES:
  • Men – Green Tees
  • Ladies - Ladies Tee
  1. All players hit from the tee and select the best shot
  2. Lie may be moved within one club length of the original ball, but not closer to the hole. Each players’ ball must remain in the same condition of the original ball (fairway, rough, bunker, etc.).
  3. For putts, the ball must be placed within one putter head of the original ball, but not nearer the hole.
  4. Teams with less than 4 players will rotate shots of missing players among the other players.
  5. Mulligans are $5.00 each (limit 5 per player) and may be used at the discretion of the team and individual. Do not make tap-ins until everyone has played the original putt or before any mulligans are used. Once the ball is holed, no further strokes count.
  6. Tee-busters are $5.00 each (limit one per player). Tee-busters may be used at the discretion of the team and individual. Tee-busters allow the player to tee off from the most forward tee on the hole.
  7. The prize for a hole-in-one can be won only on the first shot of a player. A hole-in-one made with a mulligan or a shot for a missing player will not win the prize.
  8. A hole-in-one must be witnessed by two adult volunteers (one on the tee and one at the green) in order to win the prize.

SCORING AND PRIZES:

  1. The Seminole Golf Course staff will provide scoring services for the tournament.
  2. Prizes will be presented for the following:
  • Complimentary Gift Bag at check-in
  • 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place Team Score. Gross score. No handicaps will be used to compute the winners.
  • Longest Drive on designated Par 5
  • Closest to pin on designated Par 3
  • Win a car provided by TALLAHASSEE FORD/LINCOLN for a Hole-in-one on designated Par 3.
  • Drawing for Door Prizes using Entry Ticket and Mulligan Tickets.
  • Mulligans may be purchased at the entry table for $5.00 each (maximum 4 per player).

Note: If weather makes it necessary to postpone the tournament, an alternate date will be set.
