Addendum No. 3To

Request for Proposal

For Matthaei Renovations 2014: Project 080-248285

Dated October 14, 2014

The Addendum must be acknowledged on your lump sum bid.

The pre-bid conference for Request for Proposal for Matthaei Renovations 2014, Project 080-248285 was held on October 22, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. (local time) – at Detroit, MI 48202. Loretta McClary reviewed the highlights of the pre-bid package, especially concerning details such as bid due dates and who Contractors may contact during the live bid process. Mark Gibbons of WSU, Design & Construction Services and Tim Flintofffrom Stucky Vitale Architects discussed the technical aspects of the project and bid requirements, and conducted the Q & A session.

NOTE: You must have attended a pre-bid conference in order to be eligible to bid on a particular project. Receipt of minutes or addenda without being at a pre-bid conference does not qualify your company to bid.

Questions and answers after the pre-bid meeting:

Question 1:

The front of the lower foot locker on a 24x24 Recruiter locker is normally slanted inward at the bottom to allow for a more comfortable sitting position (see attached detail). But we can also provide a straight-front foot locker. Which type of foot locker front is required? Straight front or slanted front?

Answer: Slanted, as shown.

Question 2:

Drawing A1.1 and A5.1 indicate the lockers are to have a “hard maple finish”. Detail 16/A1.1 indicates the corner panel is red oak plywood with hard maple finish. The Recruiter lockers supplied on previous WSU projects were fabricated from red oak plywood and lumber with a clear finish. That is our standard species/finish.

  1. Please confirm which wood species is required for this project: red oak or maple?

Answer: Maple.

  1. Please confirm that a clear finish (no stain) is acceptable.

Answer: Clear Finish.

Question 3:

We provided an etched “W” logo on the upper security box door on previous WSU projects. Is the “W” logo (or any logo) required on the security box door for this project?

Answer: No Logo.

Question 4:

Where does the resilient athletic flooring (spec section 09625) as shown on PS1.2; occur? it’s not shown on the room finish or other plans, is this flooring required at all on this project ?

Answer: Resilient athletic flooring (spec section 09625) as shown on PS1.2 occurs on sheet A9.1 and F1.1 as Resilient (RF-1 and RF-2) and the pattern for RF-1 and RF-2 are also shown on Sheet F1.1.

IMPORTANT- This is an addendum which MUST be acknowledged on your bid form
