Course description

and objectives:Topics covered include integration of functions of one variable, pointwise and uniform convergence, integration and differentiation of series, differentiable mappings of several variables, chain rule, product rule and gradients, Mean Value Theorem, Taylor's Theorem, Inverse Function Theorem, Implicit Function Theorem. Coverage: chapter 5-7.

Prerequisites:C or better in MA 334.

Exams:Two exams and a final. Final exam: May 8,Tuesday,03:30pm-05:30pm

Homework, quizzes:Homework will be collected on Wednesdays. Quizzes will be given randomly, at the beginning of the class. If you are late you cannot take the quiz.

Make up policy:NO MAKE UP TESTS ARE GIVEN unless you have a university approved excuse inwriting. If you missed a test you must notify me withing 24 hours after the test. A missed test or final exam will result a grade F for the course. No make up quiz is given – unless you have auniversity approved excuse for beingabsent.No late homework is accepted.

Attendance:If you are absent more than 4times, your grade is F for the course.

Grading policy:By the end of the semester you will have a percentage for each test, for the final, and for the homework and quizzes combined. Your overall percentage is the arithmetic average of thesepercentages. Your overall percentage will be converted to letter grade as follows:

[90,100] → A, [80,90) → B, [70,80) → C, [60,70) → D, [0,60) → F.

Grades are non-negotiable!Losing your financial support, scholarship etc. is not a valid reason for getting a better grade. If you need a good grade you must study more!

Withdrawal:April 5, 4:59pm, 2013 is the last day to withdraw from the course with a grade W or to change enrollment from credit to audit.
