OVERVIEW

Representatives from the high school and College worked together to develop this agreement so that high school students will have the opportunity to earn college credit in high school and experience a smoother transition to Jefferson College.

PURPOSE

The purpose of this agreement between Jefferson College and the above school district is to promote the articulation of course work taken in high school by students who plan to enroll at the College. The documentation of the competency mastery will be done via an online articulation database system called CATEMA accessible at

AGREEMENT

Any student who completes any of the high school courses outlined in this agreement and adheres to the requirements stated in the "Tech Prep for Career & Technical Education Articulation Guidelines" will receive tuition waived Jefferson College course credit upon acceptance into their designated program.

The following criteria must be met in order for students to receive Tech Prep articulated credits:

1.Student must earn a grade of B (80%) or higher and have mastered at least 80% of the course competency with a rating of 4 or better and be recommended for credit by the high school teacher in the CATEMA online Articulation Database Program.

2.College Credit will only be applied toward an Associate of Applied Science Degree or a Career and Technical Education Certificate Program.

3.Student should notify the Jefferson College Registrar or Admissions of their articulated credit at the time they apply for admission to Jefferson College. Student must enroll within twenty-four (24) months from high school graduation in order to be eligible for college credit under this agreement.

4.When the applicant has been admitted to Jefferson College and their designated program, credit obtained by articulation will be recorded on their student transcript as "CR" which equates to a class taken for credit. No letter grade is awarded and there is no effect on GPA calculations.

5.Tuition and facility use fees will be waived for articulated courses.

6.Student shall meet and maintain the admission standards and program prerequisites as established by Jefferson College and stated in the Jefferson College Catalog under which the student enters their designated program.

7.Listed below are the articulated courses from the participating school.

8.The Articulation Agreement and process will be reviewed bi-annually by representatives from the participating high school and Jefferson College. Courses can be added at any time by making amendments in writing to this agreement.

9.The articulating high school warrants that the teachers are teaching, measuring, and documenting into CATEMA at least 90% of each of the competencies attached, which are pulled from the CATEMA System.

10.Exceptions will be dealt with on an individual basis.
