Dear Lisa,
Thank you for your e mail and the information you have supplied with it I have just replied to a similar communication from a local resident, so be consistent I have copied below what I sent to him :
We are aware of the issues relating to the site and have been in contact with a number of agencies concerning the land and the certificate of lawfulness application. I do understand that it is a sensitive issue locally and have also been in discussion with your Local Councillor about it.
I will request an update from my Development Control Manager on where the process has reached this far. I am anxious to ensure that the Council picks its way carefully through all of the Legal complexities relating to this site to avoid any loopholes being introduced which skew the outcome.
I cannot say any more but please be assured that the Council is doing its best within the law to resolve this issue.
I am sorry that you are not satisfied with the actions being taken thus far and I appreciate that this is an emotive issue locally. I am concerned that the Council ensures that the matter is dealt with in the correct way as alluded to above.
As stated in the earlier e mail I will obtain an update from the Development Control Manager and get back to you.
Kind Regards
Dave Barnes

Subject: 3/14/1114 CLP Caravans on land at Broadbridge, Holt for Residential Use.
Dear Mr Barnes,
Further to the response from Mr Giles Moir of 2nd January, the Parish Council and local residents are not satisfied by the response and actions of the District Council with regard to the unauthorised siting of caravans on land at Broadbridge (currently 9 units).
To clarify the history of the site; it was originally agricultural land then, when purchased by Mr Ryan approx 18 years ago, it became horticultural. It was for this use ONLY that permission was granted for one mobile home. The property has never been granted permission as a caravan 'site' nor as a 'commercial' site from which the current occupants appear to be operating businesses.
At the Parish Council Meeting held this week (and last month), 25 residents attended who are all extremely unhappy with the current situation and lack of action from the Local Authority having been provided with evidence of a breach of planning in August last year.
We trust that the application for Claimed Lawful Use will not be approved and appropriate action taken to remove the caravans to protect our rural landscape in the Green Belt.
With Kind Regards,
Lisa Goodwin - Clerk
Holt Parish Council
