NEWS FROM THE GROUND

It was a timely win last week just when everything seemed lost with regard to a

play-off place. There is now a seven point gap between Mazarron in seventh place

with 49 points and Balsicas in eighth so, realistically, with four games remaining,

the battle for the play offs is between 5 teams, Cartagena FC on 55 points, AD

Alquerias on 51 points, UD Los Garres on 51 points and CF Molina on 50.

Mazarron need to equal either Alquerias or Los Garres on points as we have the

better head to head against both teams having beaten them both once and drawn

once. With Molina we have drawn twice so goal difference will decide if we are

level on points and, at present, theirs is better by four goals.

Mazarron's remaining games after today are away to Jumilla CD, at home to

struggling Plus Ultra and finally away to FC Cartagena FC UCAM.

Cartagena FC have away games at Bala Azul and CF Molina and home games

against AD Alquerias and Alcantarilla FC

Alquerias have to play both third placed FC Cartagena away as well as league

leaders SFC Minerva away and have two home games against Racing Murcia and

UD Abanilla who both occupy mid table positions.

Los Garres have home games against SFC Minerva and lowly Montecasillas and

difficult away games at Cartagena FC UCAM and Abanilla.

CF Molina have away games against AD Caravaca and CD Esparragal and home

games against Balsicas and FC Cartagena.

So it is all to play for with Mazarron still with a chance of reaching the play-offs.

JUNIOR TEAMS

None of the junior teams were in action last week because of the Easter holidays.

The Juveniles "A" team were scheduled to play Ranero CF last Thursday but the

game was re-arranged for yesterday with an 11 am kick off.

NEWS FROM THE GROUND

Welcome this evening to our visitors CD Lumbreraswho, unfortunately

have already been relegated from the Preferente Autonomica. They have

had a terrible season winning only three of their 30 games played so far.

They had a rare 2-1 victory over also struggling Montecasillas two weeks ago

but prior to that they hadn't won since they beat Jumilla CD 4-1 at home at

the end of October. Last weekend they lost 1-0 at home to UD Abanilla in a

game re-arranged after the storms in early February.

At the end of November Mazarron had, what turned out in the end, to be a comfortable 4-1 away win at Lumbreras despite a poor first half performance which ended goalless. However Mazarron dominated the second half and goals from Jimmy (2), Chino and Raso gave the visitors the

three points.
