PROFESSIONA EXPERIENCE:
2008/7/1 to present: Working for the telecom brand of choice, at Nawras Telecom Company, recently promoted as FOC Implementation projects and IBS Implementation Section Head since 1/10/2012. My previous position was held as an Expert in CME Implementation and Infrastructure at Network Deployment Department. Currently I’m leading the newly established FOC implementation division that carries all FOC inside and outside plant works including network backbone rings, sub-rings, flat connectivities and IBS solutions.
- Leading a team of 5 internal employees, 3 service contractors and 1 consultant.
- Leading 3 major contractors with supervision over 350 external stakeholders. ( evaluation of 11 new contractor are in final stage, will add 3 more contractor in our main contractor list)
- Closed 186 fiber implementation scopes and projects including IBS in 2012.
Achievements:
- Achieved 130% of the target for the business customer connectivity in Q1 2013.
- 2012 saved 80,000 OMR, after negotiation with the contractor and having a benchmark price for the CME activities.
- 2011 saved 120,000 OMR, after in housing all change order and additional scope in Q4)
Main Tasks & Responsibilities:
Project Management:
Project Planning, Project Execution, Project Monitoring and Project Closure of assigned project. Support other sections within Implementation department on project management.
Work Supervision:
· Supervising FOC civil and infrastructure work carried out by subcontractor.
· Support other sections within implementation department for supervising equipment and cables installation, system integration and power connectivity.
Quality Assurance and Quality control
· Continuous review of FOC Implementation process, implementation standard and implementation methodology under FOC civil and infrastructure activities for future improvement.
· Inspection, testing and acceptance of any FOC civil and infrastructure work carried out by subcontractor to confirm the deliverables is within implementation standards.
· Establishment of needed report on quality assurance.
· Support other sections within Implementation department for Quality assurance and quality control.
Budget control and cost reduction
· Manage and maintain record of site invoices in relation to assigned project.
· Minimize our exposure and risk for the project(s).
· Review the SOW and the costs.
· Prepare SOW for third party companies.
· Negotiate the price and the cost of the project with the third party.
Liaison:
Coordinate internally with different sections or departments in Nawras such as access and power implementation, site acquisition, radio planning, transmission planning and externally with subcontractors to ensure project delivery within time line and ensure excellent quality of work.
Evaluation:
· Review, evaluate and enhance site construction and handover process and maintain records of all related projects’ deployment documentation and activities.
· Review deliverables prepared by the team (internal and external).
· Review the whole project and its progress with the vendor.
· Evaluate the exited process and improve the quality projects and its procedure.
June 2005 to 2008/6/30: I worked at Muscat Municipality (MM) as a Project Engineer at Road Department. I managed and supervised internal roads rehabilitation projects at Matrah and at Bushar areas. In addition to that I supervised and managed Al-Aziba Road Maintenance Center. (Projects with cost of more than 2 million Omani Rails)
Main Tasks & Responsibilities as Project Engineer:
· Supervise the total project.
· Review the drawings.
· Follow up the contractors (works stages).
· Assurance the quality of the work.
· Approve for all the payment for contractor Bill of Quantity (BoQ).
· Controlling the total budget of the project.
· Give approval for Material Approval Sheet (MAS) for all materials use in project.
· Dealing with the ROP regarding road diversion.
· Dealing with other (MM) department regarding any crossing work between projects.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities at AlAziba Road Maintenance Center
· Managing more than 120 staff working in the Road Maintenance center.
· Responsible for road maintenance, road markings, and road furniture maintenance.
· Dealing with companies for purchasing machines, parts and tools.
· Dealing and coordinating with ROP and Regional Municipalities for any job or work of the roads.
· Responsible for technical part in Muscat Festival.
· Responsible for new small interior roads.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:
2008 to April 2011: MBA (IT) from Middle East College- Oman. Final dissertation was on (A Study of Customer Satisfaction with Self Service Machines in Nawras telecom).
2004 - 2007: (Honor) BSc Environmental Civil Engineering, Caledonian College of Engineering.
1998 - 2003: Diploma in Architectural Engineering, Bahrain University – Kingdom of Bahrain.
1997 to 1998: Graduate from high school of Barakat Bin Mohammed, High School – Barka.
TRAINING:
2001: Summer 2001 I had two months Training in AL-HADI engineering designing & supervision (Kingdom of Bahrain). First month I worked as a graphic and architect designer at the office and the second month I was site supervisor, I worked and deal with different engineers and labors and that improved my communication skills and supervising site knowledge.
