Latest Darts matches in the Crewe Liberal Club Open League saw 100% darts records reduced from 15 to 7 and dominoes unblemished records from 7 to just 2. There was also a marked trend at Darts towards 7-1 scorelines, with two in each of the top four sections, causing the losing teams to be ever grateful to those individuals who staved off the ultimate embarrassment of being whitewashed. Premier Division Darts has regular pacemakers Pioneers Club A and West End LMR B, with 100% records intact, well to the fore after seven hits over respective hosts Cosey Club and Hop Pole A, with third placed Cosey already five points adrift. Top arrows came from Pete Boughey (Pioneers A) with 16 and 17 darters, and Commercial due Mark Jodrill and Barry Cooper and Robbie Arrowsmith (Band C) who were content with single 16 dart legs. Josh Carter (Commercial) and Fred Smith (Pioneers A) hit 17 dart legs, Fred ending his with a ton checkout, while 18 dart legs came from Pete Challinor (Nant Road A), Jules Wilde (Cosey) and LMR B pair Daniel Ayres and Patrick Lynskey. Steve Tizard (Band C) and Ken Cliffe (Vine A) also hit 18 darters, Steve also on the mark with a 104 kill and Ken with a brace of 180’s. Adele Probin (Imperial) fired an 19 darter, Nant Road A pair Matty Hamilton and Chris Hardern bombed respective 160 and 118 checkouts, Tony Richardson (Pioneers A) a 180 while Terry Smith (Band C) was another double 180 performer. Division 1 Darts only 100 percenters Kings Arms A hammered Express 7-1 to head Duke of Bridgewater A and Nant Road ASLEF by four points after the latter pair drew with White Lion B and Broughton Arms. Mick Lewis (Lady A) hit a 15 dart leg and Anthony Broadhurst (ASLEF) and Mark Woolrich (Amals A) respective 16 and 17 darters. Express sole winner Tom Knibbs ended an 18 dart leg with a 118 checkout, Mick Whitfield (Lady A) won with a brace of 19 darters and Kings A pair Gareth Cope and Daryll Taylor hit 20 dart legs. Barrie Capel (Lady A) hit a 180, while Ron Threadgold (Amals A) went one better by bagging a brace of maximums. Anne Beresford (Bridge C) saved her team mates blushes by preventing a Lady A whitewash.

Division 2 Darts toppers White Lion A’s attempt to whitewash Woodside was thwarted by Steve Hughes, but their seven hit puts them five points clear of Bridge A, who beat struggling Nomads 5-3, with promoted Prince of Wales C and E, who hit big scores against Horse Shoe and Amalgamated B sharing third place. The Shoe had veteran Nipper Braithwaite to thank for staving off the whitewash. Shaun Done (Prince C) ended an 18 dart leg with a 156 checkout and Reece Jones (Amalgamated B) registered a maximum 180.

Division 3 Darts 100 % leaders Coppenhall Leighton walloped understrength hosts Rising Sun A 7-1 to take a three point lead over Rileys Club A, who also hit seven against Dishers Club B, for whom Paul Owen prevented a complete humiliation. Three points back in third place are Vine C, whose 100 percent record was plundered when promoted visitors Kings Arms B won 6-2. Paul Byrne (Rileys A) and Steve Wilson (Sun A) hit 180’s.

Division 4 Darts 100% toppers are promoted Oddfellows Club after their 5-3 win at relegated Coppenhall Club, who share second place with Brunel Arms A, 6-2 victors over Prince of Wales D. Division 5 Darts teams recorded 3, 4 or 5 points in a very close section, with four points covering all but leaders Nantwich Road B, who retained their three points advantage despite letting slip a 3-1 lead in their draw with Rileys Club B. The latter share second place with Brunel Arms B, who beat Cheese Hall 5-3, and Duke of Bridgewater B who forfeited a 4-0 lead in their draw at Nags Head.

Premier Division Dominoes top pair Vine A and West End LMR B gained good wins at Commercial and current Champions Hop Pole A, although just five points cover all but bottom placed Imperial. Division 1 Dominoes has relegated Flying Lady A leading by one point from Cheshire Cheese who forfeited their 100% record when losing to third placed visitors Amalgamated A, who are level points with Kings A and White Lion B, all with one less win than the Cheese

Division 2 Dominoes, as in the darts, is headed by White Lion A, whose draw with Woodside puts the pair on the same points mark, but Woodside have one less win.

Division 3 Dominoes toppers Pioneers Club B had their lead trimmed to a single point after losing 6-2 to closest rivals Flying Lady B, with just three points covering the top six teams.

Division 4 Dominoes has the only two 100% dominoes record holders, promoted Oddfellows Club and Waldron B, sharing top spot after wins over Coppenhall Club and White Lion. This may change as the pair clash next match.

Division 5 Dominoes pacemakers Nantwich Road B increased their points lead to three despite forfeiting their 100% record to visitors Rileys Club B, one of five joint second placed challengers, holding them to a draw, but it could have been worse as Rileys let slip a 4-1 lead.
