ABSTRACT: The instructions given is to ensure uniform lay-out for the proceedings. This paper is a model sample showing the style and fonts to be used. Please note that your manuscript must be written on an A4 paper in .pdf format.
1INSTRUCTIONS
1.1Title, author and affiliation
The title should not be longer than two lines. Type the name of the first author (initials and last name). On the next line type the affiliation (company/institution, City, State, Country). Co-authors follow written as for first author, with affiliation.
If the first author and co-author(s) have the same affiliation you may link names with an & (or comma if more than one co-author with the same affiliation). The width of the frame for this text is 186 mm.
1.2Abstract
The abstract should not exceed 200 words (no figures or diagrams), and be typed over two columns. The width of the frame for abstract text is 186 mm.
2ARRANGEMENT OF TEXT
2.1Letters for title and authors.
Start typing the title 12 mm plus 3 line-shifts from top of paper. Type the title in capital letters using Times New Roman, bold 18 points, author(s) 14 points. Type affiliation in 12 points italics (cursive).
2.2Text lay-out and intending
The margins for A4 size paper are 12 mm left and right side. The distance from top paper to text is 12 mm, distance from bottom end of paper to text is also12 mm.
The text has to be typed in two columns, each of 90 mm width and with 6 mm spacing between the columns. The text should be typed in Times New Roman 12 point, text in tables, captions and references 10 points
Do not type with extra spacing between lines or paragraphs. First line of paragraphs should be intended three characters, except after a heading.
In order to ensure uniformity please avoid blank lines at the bottom of the page. You may adjust by adding space above or below headings in the respective column. No numbering of pages.
3FIGURES, TABLES AND REFERENCES
3.1Figures
The size of the figures should correspond to the width of a single column 90 mm or to the width of the type area of 186 mm. Please place the figures close to where they are first mentioned in the text. Place the caption under the figure, with some space (two lines) between figure and caption. Type with Times New Roman 10 points, see chapter 2.2. (Figure 1. Text ---).
3.2Tables
As for figures the tables may be of a size corresponding to the column width or the type area. Place the tables close to where they are mentioned in the text. Use only horizontal lines to divide headings and text in the tables. Place lines at top and bottom of the table. Type the caption above the table (Table 1. Text -). Type with Times New Roman 10 points, see chapter 2.2.
3.3References
Type the references in Times New Roman 10 points. Write according to the following example:
Janbu, N. (1996) Slope stability evaluations in engineering practice. 7th International Symposium on Landslides: 17-34, Trondheim 1996. Balkema.
When referred to a reference in the text use the authors last name and the year of publication in parenthesis, Example: (Janbu 1996) or (Janbu & Senneset 1996) or (Janbu et al. 1996).
