10-channel switch<A[counter|switch]>

State 06/2007

Features<A[Properties|Qualities]>:

  • With this switch<A[counter|switch]>, 10 supplementary functions can be switched from one<A[about|o channel
  • Each function can be separately switched on and off.
  • Each output can be turned on as an indicator. The channel then flashes once every second. For reception signal control the flashing is slowed down (until stopped), if the reception worsens.
  • The voltage can be variedup to a maximum of 30 volts, however the max. Current<A[stream|current]> must not exceed 350 mA.
  • Each output switches to ground (earth).
  • No change in the transmitter or receiver is necessary. Control<A[Service|Operation]> simply<A[simple|easy]> by using the joysticks.
  • The supply voltage<A[mains voltage|supply voltage]> may be from 3.0 to 7.5 volts. That corresponds to one 4-5 cell receiver accumulator, and/or BEC (in the drive<A[journey|drive|ride]> regulator<A[regulator|control]>).
  • Flashing light

Wiring:

(See schematic circuit diagram)

  • The connecting cable<A[connecting cable|junction cable]> is to be joined with the receiver. Please place onto a free joystick;it<A[service|operation]> is laid out for this application.
  • The 10 outputs arein the connecting<A[post|jamb]> plug<A[plugs|couplers]>. They are to be connected with the negative poles of the consumers.
  • Connect the positive pole<A[positive pole|positive terminal]> of the consumer directly with the accumulator.
  • The 1st connection on the board<A[board|circuit board]> is to be connected with the negative pole of the accumulator. If this accumulator is the receiver accumulator, it<A[it|he]> is already connected to the board<A[board|circuit board]>. Then this additional wire can be omitted.
  • If inductive loads<A[loads|burdens]> (Motors, relays...) are to be switched, a free-wheeling diode must be used (see circuit diagram).
  • The flashing light is not combined with the connecting<A[post|jamb]> plug<A[plug|coupler]>. Here, a wire can be soldered on if required. The flashing frequency is round about 1.25 Hz.

Operation<A[Service|Operation]>:

Whenthe receiver is switched on the neutral position of the joystick is calibrated. During this time all outputs are switched on (*). This should only be a short flash. After the first flash, the module<A[element|building stone]> is ready.

The joystick can be moved <A[touched|moved]>in one direction and back into the neutral position, once or several times. This movement is counted. As soon as the joystick is held longer in the direction, the corresponding channel is switched.

For example: Channel 3 is off and is supposed to be switched on:

Momentarily move joysticktwice to the left, hold the third time firmly to the left until channel 3 is switched on.

In the other direction every channel can be switched in just the same way, however, it then<A[it|he]>flashes. Which direction the channel permanently switches, and which one causes it to<A[it|he]> flash, depends on the remote control used (long impulse = flash).

If a channel is switched, the module<A[element|building stone]>once again begins to count from channel 1.<A[with|in the case of]> After a break<A[pause|break]> in the centre position the module<A[element|building stone]> also resumes its count from<A[with|in the case of]> channel 1.

Apart from that further channels can also be directly switched.

For example: Channel 3 and 4 are supposed to be switched:

Momentarily move control joystick twice, the third and fourth time for a longer period, in each case until channel 3, and/or channel 4 switches.

A channel which is turned on can be turned off with the same procedure once again.

Tip<A[Tip|Notice]>: If channel “11” is turned on, all outputs are turned off. If all channels are already off, they will all be turned on.

(*): Upon request a special version is available, which doesn’t flash at power-up.

Schematic circuit diagram:

Possible faults:

All outputspermanently remain on after the receiver is powered-up.

The Received Signal is faulty<A[faulty|defective]>, check the remote control.

A channel cannot be turned on:

The problem can possiblybe resolved by switching off the receiver, otherwise the driver stage is defective. Pay attention to free-wheeling diodes and the maximum load current.

During operation the frequency of the flashing light<A[company|operation]> becomes quicker/slower.

Interference, e.g. poor reception.

All channels are suddenly lost, however they can be turned on again.

Reset through under voltage. Pay particular attention to a stable voltage supply.
