Doctor in Medicine and Surgery for the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, rated CumLaude (2006) for a thesis entitled "UVBBE therapy in psoriasis. Experience in clinical practice, prognostic factors of response and evaluation of their effects on various pharmacodynamic parameters of therapeutic response".
Associated Professor at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona since 2009.
He is a member of the working groups of psoriasis, photobiology and contact dermatitis and skin allergy. Has been Chairperson of the Spanish Photobiology Group ( 2008-2010).
He has participated as a principal investigator or co-investigator in 15 clinical trials or funded projects related to psoriasis, particularly in relation to the new biological drugs.
He has participated as invited speaker, chairman or co-chairman in 10 international conferences / courses and international symposia.
He has participated as invited speaker, chairman or co-chairman in 52 conferences / courses and national (Spanish) symposia.
He is first author or co-authored 62 articles in national magazines, 6 book chapters and 35 articles in international journals. Author of ”consensus documents on UVBBE phototherapy and PUVA” and “topical therapy in psoriasis of the AEDV” and co-author of the “guidelines of bath-PUVA, Spanish therapeutic guidelines for the treatment of moderate to severe psoriasis, consensus document for the evaluation and treatment of moderate to severe psoriasis and the treatment protocol to infliximab infusion reactions by the Spanish Group of Psoriasis of the Spanish Academy of Dermatology”, all of them published in the journal Actas Dermosifiliográficas.
Member of the editorial board of the journal Actas Dermosifiliográficas since 2005 and of the editorial board of the magazine “PIEL” since 2008.
Editor-in-Chief of Actas Dermo-Sifiliográficas( Official Journal of the Spanish Academy of Dermatology) since 2010.
Reviewer of the journal Actas Dermosifiliográficas, Piel, Journal of Investigative Dermatology, British Journal of Dermatology, Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, Journal of Cellular Biochemistry and the Journal of Dermatology Science.
He is a member of the Academia Española de Dermatología y Venereología ( AEDV), the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV), the European Society of Contact Dermatitis, Colegio Ibero-Latino-Americano de Dermatología ( CILAD) and the Acadèmia de Ciències Mèdiques de Catalunya i Balears.
