Things Became Foggy Unclear

Do you have terrible eyesight? If you do, you must have experienced this horrid experience which happened to my dad two years ago, when our summer holiday trip turned out to be his nightmare…

We went to Bintan Island, where flower were singing, tails were chasing their cats and we were out to have a blast! After we had arrived on the island, all I knew was that I was on holiday. The atmosphere of a place could really change a person! My muscles instantly relaxed and my mind was as blank as a piece of paper. No more homework, surprise quizzes, or anything else… Just five days relaxing on a hot beach.

On day three, we decided to step on the soothing sand (again). While Mum was moaning that the sun was hurting her skin, and she wanted to go shopping in the city (again), Dad and I went out to the ocean and “play” with the waves (again). We had been doing this for quite a lot of times, and it was actually fun although we might seem like idiots in the sea. Sometimes waves were gentle, they were like massaging our senses. Sometimes waves were roaring dragons; they slapped us in our faces. It was like a roller-coaster ride! Suddenly, a gigantic wave approached, and when it hit, Dad and I were spinning in a “washing machine” and lost sight of each other! I struggled to get back to the surface, after a few attempts, I succeeded, and so did Dad, When I was about to shout out loud “victory’, Dad became nervous all of a sudden, He lost his eye-glasses in the ocean! He ordered me to search for it, but I made a terrible wrong decision and asked him to give me my goggles first.

I was pretty sure if I hadn’t asked for goggles, I would have found Dad’s eye- glasses around myself as we were close to each other, but I did make that stupid request. So, Dad ended up having two days wandering on an island which did not sell “good-looking” glasses, and he was blind as a hamster (Hamsters have horrible eyesight).

Those two days had not been easy for Dad. He couldn’t even read the menu in a restaurant! Therefore, he immediately bought a pair of eye-glasses once we arrived at Hong Kong, and a pair of goggles, just in case.
