1.  Post Title – Supporter Development & lottery Officer

Salary Band / Grade £22 - £23K

Full Time 37.5 hours per week

Background

Prospect Hospice provides a broad range of End of Life Care services across Swindon and North East Wiltshire. Our care is delivered in our 16 bed In-Patient Unit, Day Hospice, Great Western Hospital and patients’ homes. The Hospice has an outstanding local reputation and is committed to ensuring that the patients and families we provide comfort and care for each year continue to receive an exceptional level of support towards the end of their lives as well as helping to influence and enhance best practice in End of Life Care with other providers.

2.  Main purpose & scope

The Supporter Development & Lottery Officer is responsible for managing and developing Lottery income and the overall development of Supporter Journeys.

The prime purpose is to ensure agreed income targets are achieved through maximising a variety of fundraising activities aimed at securing and maintaining new lottery members. Be the key contact for third party canvassing agencies. Work with the Database Administration Manager to further develop appropriate supporter journeys.

3.  Key Accountabilities and Outputs

Responsibilities will include but will not be restricted to:

Supporter Care

·  To provide an exceptional level of customer care to ensure that relationships with lottery players and all donors are maintained and developed.

·  Develop supporter journeys ensuring all donors are recognised valued and supported appropriately.

·  Prepare reports and data audits to identify and develop mid-major donor and in-memory donor relations.

·  Ensure consistent and appropriate messages/customer care when corresponding with all donors.

·  Ensure all correspondence complies with and adheres to the General Data Protection Regulations.

Lottery

·  To oversee the hospice lottery, ensure it is run in compliance with the Gambling Commission rules and regulations and all records are maintained in compliance with relevant regulations.

·  Manage the hospice relationships with third party agencies to recruit and maintain new members.

·  Ensure the on-going strategic aims for the lottery promotion are met.

·  Manage monthly income reports and data audits for lottery activity.

·  To ensure the lottery canvassers work within the standards set by the Gambling Commission, Fundraising Regulator, Institute of Fundraising and act as the complaint co-ordinator.

·  Identify training needs for individuals.

General

·  To develop and maintain a sound understanding of all facets of the work undertaken by Prospect Hospice and the hospice movement.

·  To keep up to date with gambling and charity law.

·  To adhere to all organisational policies and procedures.

·  To undertake other work as may be requested by the Head of Fundraising/Database Administration Manager as the organisations work develops and new needs emerge, appropriate to the nature of the post.

5.  Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Person Specification

·  Experience of working with third party agencies to achieve agreed outcomes.

·  Proven ability to analyse supporter databases in order to inform the development of fundraising marketing strategies.

·  Proven track record of success in achieving challenging financial targets.

·  Computer literate with good working knowledge of IT packages, and particularly word-processing and donor database software (we currently use Raiser’s Edge and Microsoft Office).

·  Advanced customer service skills with a keen understanding and appreciation of donor care issues with respect to individual and institutional donors.

·  Evidences a collaborative working style across organisational boundaries to ensure alignment with strategy.

·  A track record of delivering campaigns from an initial concept stage to final delivery.

·  Proven ability to develop and nurture long term and sustainable relationships with Hospice supporters, both current and new, in order to achieve short term and long term goals.

·  A minimum of GCSE grade C in Maths and English Language.

·  Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to work with minimum supervision and the ability to effectively prioritise own workload and that of your team.

·  Excellent interpersonal skills, including listening, facilitating, influencing and communication of ideas

·  Good written communication skills

·  Acts as a positive ambassador for the Hospice.

·  Commitment to and understanding of the changing education in palliative and end of life care

·  Commitment to and understanding of equality and diversity and how these translate into good practice in education, learning and development

·  Commitment to the values and ethos of the Hospice
