A fun, relaxed day, exploring and trying out creative campaigning ideas to bring in the crowds…………….
Arrive from 9.30am for tea/coffee and chat. Tea/coffee making facilities are available in the meeting rooms throughout the day – just help yourself.

10. 05 Round the groups – share ideas, inspire, solve problems
11. 05 Illustrated talk: Two years after the Arab Spring (Hugh Sandemann, North Africa country coordinator)
11. 45 Get creative! Parallel sessions:
a) Stunning stalls: balloons are not enough! Have a go at producing a re-useable prop to attract the crowds for all sorts of campaigns. Ideas, instructions and materials provided.
b) Songs and writing on human rights for your community
1.00 – 1.45pm Lunch
1. 45 – 2.05 Working on a project with your community - talk, tips and brainstorm ideas, based on Amnesty York’s community quilt
2.05 – 3.20 Get creative! Parallel sessions – groups swap over
3. 20 – 3.50 What have we produced – a short presentation
3. 50 – 4.20 Heritage Walks – What are they and how can we
have one in our town, city, rural area?
4.20 – 4.30 Taking it further and evaluation. Close

Travel and parking
Please note that there is no parking at the Hall, except for very few spaces in the street, and spaces outside for holders of blue badges for people with disabilities.
York Railway Station is about 10 minutes’ walk from the Hall.
Askham Bar Park and Ride is handy for people parking for the day, and itsfrequent buses also come downBlossomStreetquite close to the Hall.
The nearest car park is on Nunnery Lane, 2 minutes walk away at the end of Dale Street – quite expensive.
Tea/coffee and lunch
Tea and coffee facilities will be available during the day. Please bring your own lunch and soft drinks (there are shops 10 minutes’ walk away but this would eat – excuse the pun – into the short lunch break).
General
We will be artistic, painting and gluing – so either bring protective clothing or wear something washable, that doesn’t matter too much, just in case...... !
