Welcome to the 27th annual Muskrat Invitational Cross Country Classic! This year’s meet will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014, at Algonac High School. As in the past, there will be two divisions for boys and girls, along with JV and middle school races. A contract is on the next page. Please contact Jamie Thiede, our athletic director (810-794-4911, ext. 1260), with any concerns regarding payment.
There will be first place, runner-up and third place plaques for boys and girls in each division. Medals will go to the top 40 male and female runners in each division. In the JV races, the top 30 in each race receive medals with ribbons going to the next 100 runners. In the middle school race, medals will go to the top 15 boys and 15 girls along with ribbons to the rest.
We will again be using a computerized scoring system this year. We are asking you enter your team on athletic.net. by 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 4. Lowell Spiess will be handling entries and scoring – contact Lowell via email at, if you have any questions. This is your tentative lineup; you may make substitutions on the morning of the meet.
Schedule for 2014 Classic:
7:30 a.m.-Course open for inspection10:30 a.m. -Girls’ Division I Race
9 a.m. - Middle School Race – boys11:00 a.m. -Girls’ Division II/III/IV Race
9:15 a.m. -Middle School Race – girls11:30 a.m. - Boyls’ JV Race
9:30 a.m. -Boys’ Division I raceHigh Noon-Girls’ JV Race
10 a.m. -Boys’ Division II/III/IVraceAwards ceremony follows completion of JV races.
When arriving the day of the meet, coaches should pick up their packet in the team room adjacent to the concession stand. Packets will include numbers for each varsity athlete to wear, safety pins and course maps. Should you have any questions regarding this meet, please contact Dan Shafer at.
Inform your spectators there will be a $1 charge per per student and adult upon entering our course. Kids are free. This is our attempt to offset some of our increased expenses.
Also remind spectators that dogs are not allowed on our athletic complex during meets.
