Purpose of the role: Working as part of a team of staffwithinthe Reprographics department, you will assist and contribute to the smooth delivery of reprographics services to support staff and students. Operate a range of high end professional digital equipment and associated ancillary print equipment.
Main areas of responsibility:
- You will be responsible for operating reprographics equipment
- Operate all ancillary print finishing equipment binding, padding and folding machines.
- Carrying through the production and finishing of printed materials.
- Use digital reprographics software such as Adobe Creative Suite
- Help, guide and support students with producing print ready documents
- Assist in the maintenance of digital production equipment
- Assist in maintaining suitable stocks of consumables
- Support Student Helpers at the Reprographics reception area

Essential criteria / A, I, EKnowledge /
- Desktop computer systems
- Software including Microsoft office, email and internet browsers
- Modern digital reprographic equipment
- Graphical software including Adobe Suite.
Qualifications /
- Good general standard of education to GCSE level.
Experience /
- Worked in a Print Shop or Reprographics dept
- Operating reprographics digital equipment
- Operate all ancillary print finishing equipment binding, padding and folding machines.
Technical/work based skills /
- Customer Care: Ability to demonstrate good customer skills when dealing with students and staff.
- Self-motivation / Response to change: is adaptable; interested in learning and developing to meet changing situations; can demonstrate ability to learn quickly under own initiative
- Organisation: works systematically; uses time efficiently; meets priorities and deadlines with a minimum of supervision.
Other requirements /
- Lifting: can handle moderate weights (cartons of paper, printing supplies, etc.); has sufficient stamina for a full working day in a busy and noisy environment.
Desirable /
- Experience in an institutional or commercial digital printing environment
- Experience in a service environment and familiarity with dealing with customers
- Has an understanding of the safe operation of digital equipment and is aware of the possible associated hazards.
- Demonstrable interest in computing technologies
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements.
- Any appointment is generally made at the bottom of the salary range for the grade dependent upon experience and previous salary.
- This is a part time andpermanent post.
- Annual leave entitlements are shown in the table below and increase after 5 years’ service. In addition, to the eight Bank Holidays, there are university discretionary days between Christmas and New Year. All leave, including bank holidays and discretionary days, are pro-rated for part time employees.
