Supplementary Table 2. Example of an ecological fact sheet of the IPS Viola cephalonica produced after linking its collection data with those of geodatabases. An IPS ecological fact sheet includes different kind of information i.e. Taxonomic (taxon’s name, family, accession number-ASN), Conservation Assessment (IPS 1-4), Mother Plantations (IPS accession number/s, number of records: if >1, then any quantitative information may obtain a standard deviation), Vegetation Zone (types), Climatic – a combination of Precipitation and Temperatures (total annual and annual range of precipitation, driest and wettest month, minimum, mean and maximum temperatures, annual and diurnal temperature range, isothermality and seasonality, Emberger pluviothermic quotient), Topographic (elevation, aspect, slope), Habitat (bibliographic, field notes), Land Cover Type (CORINE classification in three levels) and Geological-Pedological (Food and Agriculture Organization’s soil classification, World Reference Base Soil classification, dominant parent material in three levels, depth to rock, textural class, topsoil base saturation, subsoil water capacity).
