Line Manager / Facilities ManagerDirect Reports / Nil
Duties / Supporting the Facilities Manager and team in a busy despatch environment, liaising with all SSVC departments
Day-to-day Responsibilities
/- Undertaking general office administration e.g. answering telephone enquiries, filing, keeping accurate records, etc
- Collating BFBS entertainment DVDs, packing DVDs, listing on paperwork amountsand despatching
- Undertaking cinema admin duties, managed by cinema personnel
- Processing all inbound/outbound post received in despatch in a professional, timely and efficient manner and in accordance with internal procedures, using on-line Royal Mail account
- Receiving and checking incoming goods from various suppliers & courier companies
- Orderingon-line entertainment DVDs for Operational Welfare,
- Despatching large parcels using on-line Parcel Force worldwidedespatch manager
- Undertaking SSVC warehouse housekeeping, ordering consumables etc.
- Driving Fork lift when required
- Operating a mechanical banding machine
- Operating a large mechanical guillotine
- Collating end of month BFPO accounts
- Collating end of month Royal Mail accounts
- Collating end of month Parcel Force accounts
- Providing excel reports and updates as required or requested by Facilities Manager or Finance Manager.
- Driving a large Ford Transit style van, collecting and delivering to various locations, including London, with the potential of travelling approx 200 miles in one day
- .
- Undertaking ad hoc tasks and projects as required by the Facilities Manager.
- Compling with all SSVC Policies and procedures, including the Health and Safety Policy and SSVC Quality Manual.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential / DesirableExperience / Proven, broad-based, experience within the a despatch environment
Qualifications / Educated to O level/GCSE standard or by experience / Fork Lift Driver Trained
Skills & Aptitudes / Good communicator with the ability to get on with people at all levels both internally and externally
Ability to work well as part of a team and on own initiative
Be a team player with good ethical values and respectful of colleagues within the division and other business areas within the Corporation
Attention to detail/accuracy
Good organisational skills
The ability to lift up to 30kg and carry a reasonable distance on occasion.
Knowledge / Proficient on Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the internet / Health and Safety
First hand professional knowledge and dealings with the British Armed Forces
