After speaking with my club coach and getting my family’s approval, I would like to submit for your review and consideration my resume and credentials as a potential team member of the Cardinals. I have begun to narrow my college and career pursuits. I have always dreamed of attending a college as prestigious as Stanford University and am hopeful that my academic and athletic abilities will afford me the opportunity to fulfill my dream of going to your college and playing for a coach as well respected as you.
I am currently a senior attending Castro Valley High School, in Castro Valley and play competitive soccer for the Castro Valley Soccer Club. My GPA is a 3.8 and I will be taking the SAT in December. Athletically and Academically I believe I am the type of student that would fit within the school and your program. My leadership skills have afforded me the opportunity to be captain of my club team since 2007 and have helped me to overcome adversity as an athlete and student.
Having talked with my coach and truly evaluating my abilities as an athlete, I believe that my work ethic, skills and abilities could contribute to your program if given the opportunity and chance to prove myself. I will be calling you over the next few days to make sure you received my package and hopefully I will have an opportunity to talk with you about your program and player needs for the upcoming season. I would appreciate any information you can send me regarding your program, along with scholarship and financial aid information that might be available at Stanford University.
