CLOSURE INFORMATION:
TUDA racks at ISAC-II
Project description (continued):
- The ability to rotate the racks inside the shack by 90° must be verified on a layout. TUDA shack is 360.5cm wide. The racks are 258.5cm long. The shack is 360.5cm long.
- Alternative placement of the racks inside the shack and electrical hookup must be investigated at this time.
- Disconnect the electrical conduits powering up each rack
- Disconnect the copper grounding bar going to each rack
- Disconnect all cables to the racks and pull them up a store in the overhead cable tray.
- Make the 4 inside electronics rack one solid structure.
- Attach lifting lugs on the 4 racks such that they can be lifted as a unit. The lifting lugs cannot exceed the height of the racks by more than 4 cm.
- Mount the entire 4 rack structure on wheels. The wheels must be non-conducting so that the racks are electrically floating. The wheels must lockable so that the racks can be fixed in a desired position.
- Rotate the racks and move the racks outside the shack.
- Lift the racks and place them on the mobile cart.
- Move the cart and racks over to SEBT1 in ISAC-II
- Lift up the racks and place onto the ISAC-II floor.
- Move the racks into position and lock into place.
- Electrical work can now commence on the racks and at SEBT1 and the TUDA shack to make the racks fully portable between the two locations.
Alternatives:
- If racks can be made portable without raising the racks more than 3.5cm the electrical conduit and grounding bar need not be removed.
- This lowered portable support must be non-conducting such that the racks will be electrically floating.
Timetable:
- Planning finished Nov. 21, 2008
- Assemble parts and designate manpower Nov.24, 2008 to Dec. 24, 2008
- Move racks over to ISAC-II Jan. 5, 2009 to Jan. 9, 2009
