HOUNSLOW SHORT BREAKS MUSIC THERAPY INFORMATION
Hounslow Social Service’s Short Breaks Programme offers blocks of 12 music therapy sessions, provided by Richmond Music Trust. The service is funded by Hounslow Social Services Short Breaks and provided free of charge to families living in the London Borough of Hounslow. Places are allocated on a first come first serve basis using the guidelines given by the Hounslow Short Breaks Department.
Sessions take place at ‘The HUB’ (Beavers Library/Children’s Centre Salisbury Rd Hounslow TW4 7NW). 1:1 music therapy sessions will last approximately 40 minutes, which includes time for discussion with the therapist and feedback after the sessions.
For families unable to attend sessions on Saturdays we are able to offer after-school sessions during the week from our base in 7 Briar Road, Twickenham, TW2 6RB.
All music therapists working for Richmond Music Trust are fully qualified music therapists, registered under the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Association for Music Therapy (BAMT) and are checked through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Please note that continuity is important to achieve maximum benefit from the music therapy sessions. Therefore, please assure that your child is able to attend all 12 sessions scheduled. Due to logistical reasons we are not in the position to reschedule sessions in case your child is not able to attend as a result of sickness etc. However your child can be re-referred to our service after completion of the first block of sessions.
