The Village of Blasdell Recreation Department is excited to announce the opening of its Silver Street and JFK Playgrounds.
JFK AND SILVER STREET
Monday – Friday June 11th - June 22ND 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM
Monday – Friday June 25rd – August 17TH 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM
August 20TH – August 31ST 10:00 AM to 4:00PM
Playground staff duties include:
1. Assure safety and safe conditions for the public
2. Enforce rules
3. Assist a child who feels threatened or needs help
4. Organize activities and encourages participation
5. Watch for and avoid dangerous situations
Playground staff duties DO NOT include Babysitting/Day Care
Please Note:
It is very important that all children eight (8) years and under are accompanied by an adult at all times. Staff will not be responsible for these children. No Exceptions.
Attendance will be taken daily for staff records. Children will sign in each day, including name, phone number
and parent/guardian’s name. If your child has any medical problems we need to know about, please notify your playground staff. This will help the staff to assist your child in case of an emergency.
The playground staff will be taking photos for publicity reasons at different times all summer. If for any reason your child cannot be photographed, please advise the playground staff in writing by June 27th.
Please review playground rules with your child and explain the importance of each. If your child continuously defies playground rules, she/he will not be allowed on the playgrounds or will be asked to leave at staff’s discretion.
If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please tell the staff or call the Village Office at 822-1921, leave a message and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.
SUMMER LUNCH PROGRAM
JFK Playground Only – July 9th – August 17th
The Frontier Central School District in conjunction with the USDA and the Village of Blasdell will be offering a child nutrition program Monday through Friday, July 9th – August 17th from 11:30 am – 12:45 pm. Lunch will be available to all children 19 years of age and under, free of charge, at JFK Playground only.

Splash Pad Rules and Regulations
- Food and/or beverages of any kind are not allowed on the Splash Pad or inside the fenced area at any time (this includes bottled water). ALL FOOD AND BEVERAGE MUST REMAIN OUTSIDE FENCED AREA.
- Proper Swim Attire must be worn at all times – no cutoffs, gym clothes, street clothes, dress shorts, thongs or transparent colored suits allowed.
- ALL Persons must conduct themselves in a courteous, safe and family-oriented manner. The use of profanity or abusive language, symbols or gestures will result in the removal from the park and Splash Pad.
- The maximum number of users allowed on the Splash Pad is 50.
- Children 11 and younger must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult.
- Swim diapers are required for all children under 4 years of age. Regular or disposable diapers will not be allowed.
- Sandals or water shoes are recommended. No Sneakers, Cleats or Boots allowed.
- Spitting or nose blowing is prohibited on Splash Pad.
- Persons with diarrhea or nausea will not be permitted on Splash Pad.
- Persons with skin, eye or respiratory infections will not be permitted on the Splash Pad.
- Persons with open lesions or wounds will not be permitted on the Splash Pad.
- No Glass Containers or breakable objects are allowed in the park or on the Splash Pad.
- No dogs/pets are allowed in the park or on the Splash Pad.
- No skateboards, rollerblades, bicycles or scooters allowed on the Splash Pad.
- No swinging, hanging, climbing or pulling on Splash Pad equipment allowed.
- Athletic equipment, balls, bats, beach balls, noodles, toys are not allowed on Splash Pad.
- Running and Horseplay are prohibited on the Splash Pad.
- Water guns and water balloons are not permitted.
- No person under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be allowed in the park or on the Splash Pad.
- No use of tobacco products or e-cigarettes allowed in park or on Splash Pad.
- No Consumption of Alcohol allowed in park or on the Splash Pad.
- Tents or Umbrellas are not permitted to be erected in any section of the park or Splash Pad.
- No weapons allowed on park or in Splash Pad.
- No pre-recorded music with amplification is allowed.
- Splash Pad and park will be closed in the event of inclement weather or when conditions call for thunder and lightning.
- The Village of Blasdell reserves the right to remove participants for violating any of the above rules or engaging in illegal, disruptive, or inappropriate behavior at any time.
TWENTY- EIGHT ANNUAL SUMMER CONCERT SERIES
The Village of Blasdell is pleased to present the Twenty – Eight Annual Summer Concert Series at JFK Playground. A portion of this program is funded by the New York State Council of the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature; administered by Arts Services Initiative of Western New York. The Concert Series has also received a donation from the Blasdell Business Association. Concerts are free of charge and open to all Village residents and friends. We encourage you to come early and enjoy refreshments offered for sale by our local businesses. Please bring along a blanket, some lawn chairs and take advantage of the great music and atmosphere.
The concert dates are scheduled for Wednesday evenings and will begin at 6:30 PM. Concessions will open one half-hour prior to the concert.
