210-V-AMENDMENT AL02
Purpose: To issue the Alabama supplements to the revised National Engineering Manual (eDirectives, Manuals, 210).
The following partsand subparts have been supplemented:
AL501.1 – Scope
B.3) Non-NRCS employees who are not Federal employees and not licensed to practice engineering in the State.
AL501.5– Engineering Job Review
A. (3) (i) – Class IV. As determined by the SCE – “Field staff are encouraged to have design review of Class I-V jobs by employees with adequate engineering approval authority.”
AL503.56 – Responsibility for Dams
(9) – Changed Class of dams to be consistent with the Data Dictionary
Low (L), Significant (S), and High (H)
AL503.59 – Exhibit 1 – Alabama NRCS Dam Safety 5-year Inspection Schedule
Changed schedule to the area of responsibility instead of the name of the resource engineer.
AL511.3 – Operating Procedures – Review this entire section. Several changes have been made to this section.
AL520.1 – Minimizing Erosion and Pollution During Construction
Notice of Registration (NOR) – Tier 1 waterbody segments, “as defined by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management, . . . .”
