Using Alice do demonstrate some aspect of digital citizenship

Starter
Show the Alice video of the bunnies and texting while driving. / Learning Target: “ICan”
Create a psa using Alice techniques to share one important concept from digital citizenship.
Instructional Strategies
  1. Students demonstrate creative thinking, construct knowledge, and develop innovative products and processes using technology. (1- a,b,c,d)
  2. Students use digital media and environments to communicate and work collaboratively, including at a distance to support individual learning and contribute to the learning of others. (2- a, b, c, d)

Procedure:
Students will bring all prior knowledge of Alice programming to create a psa for digital citizenship. Video will be a minimum of 30 to 60 seconds long and include:
  1. Adding objects and environmental things. Resizing and positioning objects.
  2. Having multiple camera views to enhance storyline or change scene
  3. Grouping items in a list in the world tree as appropriate.
  4. Creating methods within an objects method and/or within the world method
  5. Using loops, do in order and do together
  6. Create billboards
  7. Dialogue between characters.
  8. Final billboard promoting psa chosen

Exit Slip
30 to 60 second video using Alice to show Digital Citizenship. Topics will be divided out so that no more than 3 students per class will have the same topic or idea.
