Go Spike Data Capture
We are looking to gain feedback from all events that are part of the Go Spike Big Weekend, not only on the numbers but also to identify the type of person that attended each of the events.
By combining this information from your event along with the rest across the country we will get a good understanding of who is turning up to the events.
With this sheet is the information you are required to collect off each participant at your event. Below are the areas of information we require along with the reasons why we need this.
- Date of birth
From this we will be able to get an idea of the age range of people that wanted to try volleyball across the country as well as identify the average age of the participant.
- Home postcode
We can add people’s postcodes into a piece of software which will then map out where they are based across the country. If there are a lot of people in one particular area that are playing or want to play we can make sure we can try and support more volleyball activity in the area.
- How did you hear about the event?
A PR company has been used to help promote this event through press releases, social media, radio and news papers. To understand the most popular source will help target future activity through the most appropriate channels.
- How often do you currently play volleyball?
This will help us identify if events attract new people into the sport or if the main people attending are already volleyballers. The main aim of creating events is to attract new people to the sport. If the majority that attend already participant we will need to look re focusing activity to attract new players.
- Would you be interested in being part of participant tracking research?
We currently lack research in understanding how successful events can be in converting new people to volleyball into regular participants. The only way we can find this out is to following a number of participants journeys over a period of time to see how their activity levels may change. Ideally focusing on someone who is new to the volleyball.
Anyone that agrees to be involved in this will be given a £25 gift voucher to a store of their choice. (Based on the first 100 people agreeing to be part of the research). Please Note: £25 gift voucher only to be received after completing surveys over 12 month period.
Points to note to anyone interested in being part of this survey:
-They must be aged 14 years or over and be new to volleyball
-An online survey will be sent to them each month from Volleyball England over the next 12 months
-The survey will ask them five simple questions. It will only take a few minutes to complete each time.
-Their email address will NOT be forwarded on to any third parties.
-Their email address will not be used for any other reasons by Volleyball England, unless they have stated they would like to receive volleyball news.
-Individuals can opt out of the survey at any point in the year (but will not receive voucher if they do).
Event Organisers are required to return the completed spreadsheet no later than two weeks after the date of the event either by email to OR post to Go Spike, Volleyball England, SportPark, 3 Oakwood Drive, Loughborough, Leicestershire, LE11 3QF.
