COURSE DESCRIPTION
WELCOMEto Social Studies!
In Social Studies this year we will be learning about significant events, individuals, places, continents, countries. Included in the course is the study of the political, economic, geographical and social aspects of World Geography.
SCHEDULE
First Six Weeks- U.S.A/Canada.
Second Six Weeks -Latin America/Columbian Exchange
Third Six Weeks --Europe and Russia
ACP Exam
Fourth Six Weeks -Africa and Southwest Asia)
Fifth six Weeks -Southeast Asia
Sixth Six Weeks-Oceania and Antarctic
ACP Exam
* Unit/Six Weeks Tests Will Be Administered According to Teacher Discretion*

I.SUPPLIES
Map pencils / 1 bottle of hand sanitizerWriting utensils (pens or pencils) and a red checking pen / Notebook paper

EXPECTATIONS/Discipline
Students are expected to follow all rules and expectations in class at all times. Disruptions will not be tolerated.

III. DETENTIONS
Detentions will be issued for the following reasons:
* Excessive Tardies
* Off Task Behavior
* Minor class disruptions
* Disobeying class rules
* Academic Reasons
- NOTE: For every off-task detention given, the student will lose one point off of his/her class participation grade.
IV. Late assignments- will lose 10 points for each day late. 1 day late = 90, 2 days late = 80, 3 days late = 70. If an assignment is over 3 days late, the highest a student can receive is a 50. If an assignment is never turned in, it will result in a 0.
V. Make-Up Work:
It is the student’s responsibility to check the make-up work folder, and/or ask the teacher or a peer for the make-up assignments. Students have one day per day absent to make-up their work.
VI. TUTORIALS
Tutorials will be held on Mondays or Thursdays after school from 3:45p.m.-5:00 p.m.
VII. TARDY POLICY
Any student is considered Tardy if they are not in their assigned seat with all listed supplies when the bell rings.
CHEATING
Don't!!!!!!! If you caught copying someone else's work, both students will get zeros. If you are caught plagiarizing any work you will receive a grade of zero.
