Program Description
Students learn about habitats and how animals impact their habitat using Magellanic Penguins as the model. Students become the penguin as they create a nesting habitat and test it against certain environmental constraints. This program is approximately 45 minutes long and designed for no more than 25-30 students/class. If your class numbers are high we recommend splitting into two smaller groups. Siblings are not allowed in this program.
Program Cost
$30.00program fee/class for up to 30 students, teacher and6 chaperones. Program fee does not include admission into the zoo. The discounted admission rate for school groups is $3.00 per student. The teacher and one chaperone per five paid students are free. Additional chaperones and siblings are responsible for the admission price on the day of your program.The zoo can bring the Penguineering class to your classroom. The cost for the program offsite is $95 for the first program, $55 for each consecutive program, and $1 per mile travel fee. Consecutive programs further than 20 minutes apart will incur an addition fee. Program fees are valid through December, 2017
