INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY

Position Title: Idaho Meth Project Intern

Reports To: Executive Director

Term of Internship: March – August 2012

Compensation: University internship credit; stipend for the right candidate

Position Summary: In addition to fulfilling general administrative functions, the Idaho Meth Project Intern will assist with the planning and implementation of several key projects, including Not Even Once Night (NEON) and the Givin’ Meth the Boot concert fundraiser. He/she will also help manage the Idaho Meth Project Teen Advisory Council and overall teen volunteer core. Hours and schedule are negotiable but will be heaviest in the summer months.

Key Responsibilities:

• Special projects related to the planning and implementation of Not Even Once Night, a
yearly concert and awareness event at the Western Idaho Fair – August 17

• Special projects related to the planning and implementation of the Givin’ Meth the Boot
Concert – August 3

• Manage Idaho Meth Project Teen Advisory Council and overall teen volunteer core

• Administrative tasks – answer phones and respond to general inquiries

• Assist with writing and development of communication pieces

• Data entry (CRM) and report generation

• Manage high school newspaper ad placement

• Assist with social media campaign efforts

• Represent the Idaho Meth Project at community events

Qualifications:

• Exceptional computer skills – Proficiency in Microsoft Office 2010 required (PowerPoint,
Excel and Word); Adobe experience a plus

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Customer service, communications and/or administrative experience

• Friendly, professional, and comfortable working with diverse groups of people, including
teens

• Ability to take direction and work independently on projects

• Ability to maintain confidentiality

• Interest in nonprofit/marketing & communications/public policy field

• Enthusiastic, self-starter preferred
