Ø  Modeling: Created logical and physical models in PowerDesigner for Lance, a pharmaceutical client/server application that provides the entire core business service for order entry, production processing, shipping, billing and inventory control for the 11 pharmacies in the CAPS organization (CAPS McGaw). Also designed logical and physical models for Classic Industries (a large auto parts mail order company) and Universal Music Group.

Ø  Development: Encapsulated business rules in Sybase Adaptive Server 11 stored procedures and triggers (CAPS McGaw) and MS SQL Server 7 stored procedures and triggers (Classic Industries). Created the Microsoft SQL Server 7 database layer (tables, indexes, stored procedures) for a 3-tier e-commerce system (Guidance). Wrote stored procedures for data grooming and business rule enforcement in Oracle 7 (Robert Half International, Universal Music Group).

Ø  Data Conversion: Wrote procedures to convert and validate data in the CAPS xBase legacy system into Lance (CAPS McGaw). Wrote DTS packages and T-SQL stored procedures to groom and convert 10 years of xBase legacy data into MS SQL Server 7 (Classic Industries). Created Microsoft SQL Server DTS packages and stored procedures to convert Huxley sales and financial legacy data into Firstwave’s NetGain Sales, a commercial application (Amplicon Financial).

Ø  3rd Party Integration: Developed procedures to integrate a set of third-party database (Medi-Span) data containing drug indices into the Lance system (CAPS McGaw). Wrote stored procedures to import DialRight data and automatically correct contact phones in the database for area code splits (Amplicon Financial). Incorporated UPS and FedEx zone and domestic/international shipping rate data (Classic Industries).

Ø  Migration: Migrated the Lance application from Sybase Adaptive Server 11 to Microsoft SQL Server 2000 (CAPS McGaw).

Ø  Replication: Assisted in the development of multi-directional replication using Sybase Replication Server to provide both a central repository of all Lance operational data as well as redundant servers in each pharmacy for emergency use (CAPS McGaw). Co-developed all T-SQL code (articles, subscriptions, triggers, stored procedures, etc) to implement Microsoft SQL Server 7 snapshot and transactional replication for a large 12 database site (NRT). Installed Sybase Replication Server (PeopleLink).

Ø  Sybase Adaptive Server Anywhere: Designed and developed Lance Link, a subset of the Lance application implemented in Sybase Adaptive Server Anywhere, to be used off-site by CAPS customers (CAPS McGaw).

Ø  Documentation: Co-wrote Disaster and Recovery Plan (PeopleLink).

Ø  Database Optimization: Participated in multiple performance tuning engagements. Created CRUD matrix for performance and tuning engagement of Sybase Adaptive Server and MS SQL Server databases. Reviewed existing indexing scheme and stored procedures and suggested changes to improve performance (Epoch Transaction Service, PeopleLink, United Lending Group).
