Instructions for the Paper Setter/Examiner

The question paper will consist of five sections: A, B, C, D and E. Section A, B, C and D will have two questions from the respective portion of the syllabus and will carry 15 marks each. Section E will consist of 10 short-answer type question which will cover the entire syllabus and will carry 40 marks in all, each short answer type question carrying four marks.

Instruction for the Candidates

Candidates are required to attempt one questions each from section A, B, C and D of the question paper and the entire section E. The candidates are required to answer the short questions in not less than 50 words.

2. Functions of State: Liberal Perspective.

3. Functions of State: Socialist Perspective

Section-D

1. Sovereignty: Meaning, Definition, Attributes and Types.

2. Theories of Sovereignty: Monistic.

3. Theories of Sovereignty: Pluralistic.

Paper-II

Section -A

1. Political System: Meaning, Definition, Characteristics, Functions and its distinction from State.

2 Political Culture: Meaning, Characteristics and types.

3. Political Socialisation: Meaning, Characteristics and Agencies.

Section-B

1 Rights: Meaning, Definition and Types

2 Duties: Meaning, Relationship between the Rights and Duties.

3. Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Section-C

1. Liberty: Meaning, Definition, Types and its safeguards.

2. Equality: Meaning, Definition, Types and Relationship between Liberty and Equality.

3. Justice: Meaning and its various Dimensions.

Section-D

1. Social change: Meaning, Definition and Characteristics.

2. Democracy: Meaning, Characteristics and Types.
