Topic/Objectives: Unit 1, Lesson 1 in text. (pages 30-53) The objectives in this lesson include: talking about activities, telling where you are from, saying what you do and do not like; using subject pronouns and the verb “ser”; using “de” to describe where you are from, and using “gustar” plus an infinitive.

In-Class Activities: Students check grades on Infinite Campus. New seating chart today. Assign “Duolingo” 50 XP - due at the end of the week. Presentation/Guided Notes: Gender of Words in Spanish. (agreement with number and gender of nouns, adjectives, and articles) Complete notes; begin “Práctica de Gramática” in class. Students will use the 4 random nouns they wrote at the beginning of class as an activity to hand in, where they demonstrate the ability to find out the gender of words using the online resource “Wordreference”.

Handouts/Worksheets: Guided Notes / “Práctica de Gramática” worksheet

Homework: finish “Gramática” activities if not done in class - focus is on word agreement (number and gender)

Wednesday, November 2

Topic/Objectives: Unit 1, Lesson 2 in text. (pages 54-81) The objectives in this lesson include: describing yourself and others; identifying people and things; using the verb “ser” to describe what someone is like; using definite and indefinite articles, and understanding noun-adjective agreement.

In-Class Activities: “Miáucoles” internet meme. Continued Practice with word agreement and writing sentences in the format of (article) + (noun) + (to be) + (adjective). Agreement worksheet in class. Complete online “Duolingo” assignment - continue working towards 50 XP.
