My fellow veterans, grace and peace to you and your family.
The Veterans for Christ (VFC) have an exciting year planned to support other veterans less fortunate than ourselves. We are kicking off the New Year with a couple of fund raisers. We will be at the Fort Benning and Warner Robin’s Commissary soliciting donations and collecting used cell phones. We will recycle these cell phones and use the proceeds to help fund college scholarships. This year, we will be also raffle a 50” flat screen TV this year to help fund our scholarship, which will be awarded in September during our 6th Anniversary Luncheon. Each raffle ticket will be sold for $xx.
The 2013 VFC $500.00 College Scholarship was awarded to Jaylon Kent, a Savannah State Student at our5th Anniversary Luncheon held on September 21, 2013.
On May 24, prior to Memorial Day, we will be sponsoring a PTSD and Suicide Prevention Seminar, with prominent speakers on these two very important subjects. Other subjects to be discussed include (1) getting your affairs in order, and (2) will preparation.
On November 8, we will have a Veterans Day and Men’s Breakfast at an Atlanta area church. This will be a program with a High School ROTC honor guard performing the flag ceremony and each branch of service recognized.
Later this year, we will be also volunteering our support to the Veterans Affairs Advisory Board of DeKalb County and DAV Chapter 91 to help fulfill their mission.
Gerald Prince our beloved brother and one of the founders of the Veterans for Christ, Inc. a retired Air Force veteran Passed January 30, 2014. He was buried with full military honors.
Brother Prince served faithfully in the Deacons Ministry at New Birth for several years before moving his membership to the Greater Travelers Rest Baptist Church. While at New Birth MBC he held the office of Vice Chair, as well as trainer intheDITProgram, and served wherever he was needed. Brother Prince and his lovely wife, Angela, were a blessing to the Deacons Ministry at New Birth for the many years they served.

NEW MEMBERS
Sign up online to become an associate member. The annual associate membership of $100.00 can be used as a tax deduction for supporters. Registration fees can be paid online through PayPal. You will get a free VFC T-shirt with your associate membership. Your tax deductible will also support the VFC and our mission.
All Honorably Discharged Veterans are welcome to come and observe the VFC; feel free to ask questions and learn more. If we don’t know the answer we know someone who does. Please browse our web site www.veteransforchristinc.org. There you’ll find information on many subjects of interest to veterans. You’ll also find a Newsletter for your branch of service and links to Social Security and many otherlinks with an abundance of information.
Our monthly meetings are held at the One DeKalb Neighborhood Resource Center locatedwithin the Northlake Mall (4800 Briarcliff Rd, NE, Atlanta 30345) in the conference room. Thequickest way into the mall and to the One DeKalb Outreach Center is through the lower level ofMacy’s and (look to the left) as you enter the Mall from Macy’s. Our meetings are the thirdSaturday every month and start at 11:00 (AM) for approximately one hour and a half, unlessotherwise advertised. We will be respectful of your time.
