Purpose: FHI 360 is seeking a transcription service to transcribe 20 interviews and 1 focus group discussion that will be conducted in Uganda. FHI 360 is conducting a qualitative research study with key informants on the topic of injectable contraceptives.

The present request pertains to two data collection components as follows:

  1. 20 one-on-one interviews lasting about 60 minutes each
  2. 1 focus group discussion with 5-8 participants lasting about 60 minutes

Timeline: Transcriptions will occur between April 15, 2017 and July 30, 2017

Consultant Responsibilities and tasks:

  • Provide reliable and accurate transcription of digital audio recorded interviews and focus group discussion with individuals speaking with non-US accented English
  • Provide transcriptions in turnaround time of 5 business days or less
  • Provide transcripts using the pre-specified FHI 360 format
  • Respond to queries about transcriptions as needed
  • Communicate regularly with FHI 360 staff on progress of transcription

Deliverables:

  • Accurate transcriptions in MS Word for 20 interviews and 1 focus group discussion

  • Experience transcribing qualitative interviews and focus groups with similar populations for research purposes

  • FHI 360 will be contacting each offeror to confirm contact person, address and that bid was submitted for this solicitation

  1. Project Budget (to be submitted in separate annex) and should include proposed number of hours and hourly rate including maximum cap.
  2. Qualifications and experience of firm which is relevant to the proposed program (mission, major activities, and credentials for carrying out project) including any prior work done on SRA approval and WHO Prequalification as well as work pertaining to long acting reversible contraceptives.
  3. Qualifications and experience of staff including a list of personnel to be used on this project and their qualifications including résumé, education and any other pertinent information each of the key personnel to be assigned for direct work on the project (including subcontractors, if any).
  4. Conclusion (brief statement of long-term project plan)
  5. Appendices

Basis for Award of Contract

The proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria and point ranges:
