Thank you to everyone for being a part of your community.

Budget Hearing

A public meeting of the City of Haines will be held on June 9 at 7:00 pm at City Hall. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2015 as approved by the City of Haines Budget Committee. A copy of the budget may be inspected or obtained at the Haines City Hall or online at: www.cityofhainesor.org. The Haines City Council meeting will be held immediately following the Budget Hearing.

Maintaining City Rights of Way

The City will be mowing and spraying the City street rights of way. If you have items on the right of way the City would appreciate your cooperation in moving the items so the City can maintain the area. There are large amounts of noxious weeds, mainly white top, that are becoming a large problem in the City. Fire Official's are concerned that there is going to an extended period of time this summer that the fire danger level will be extreme. If you choose to maintain the area that adjoins your property by mowing and spraying for weeds that is highly appreciated and needs to be completed as soon as possible.

Volunteers Needed for Neighborhood Watch

Neighborhood Watch is asking for volunteers. Contact Sandy Wood at 541-856-3284 for more information.

Recycle Center

The City is still having a huge amount of household garbage and non-recyclable items taken to the Recycle Center. Electronic items, such as TV's and computers cannot be taken to the Haines Recycle Center or the Haines Landfill, these items can be taken to Baker Sanitary Recycle Center located at 3048 Campbell Street in Baker City. The City is asking for help monitoring the Recycle Center, if you see someone dumping something other than normal recyclable items please contact the Haines City Hall or the Baker County Sheriff's Department.
