Indiana University Northwest, Gary, IN:

• Served the Theatre Department in a wide range of duties including Lighting Design, Scenic Design, Publicity
and Production Photography, Costume Crafts and Repair/Maintenance of house lighting, and sound systems.

Lighting Designer/Production Stage Manager, 2000-2006

Virginia School of the Arts, Lynchburg, VA:

• Design and coordinate all technical requirements of Concert performances for a pre-professional Dance
Conservatory program. Duties include generating shop orders for lighting and sound rentals, contracting local
labor, stage-managing all rehearsals and performances, supervision of load-in, hang, focus and strike.

Summerfest-Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, Urbana, IL:

• Provided Technical Direction for a professional summer theatre producing three shows in rolling repertory.

• Provided Lighting Design for a professional summer theatre producing three shows in rolling repertory.

Adjunct Instructor in Theatre/Technical Director & Director of Media Services, 1999-2000

Randolph-Macon Woman’s College, Lynchburg, VA:

• Taught two sections of Stagecraft, Acted as Technical Director for all Theatre Department productions and served as
primary Lighting Designer for the Department of Dance. Managed all use of the Thoresen and Lab Theatres by
touring companies, campus events, Theatre classes and workshops.

Designer/Technical Director, 1997

Lynchburg College, Lynchburg, VA:

• Joined the Theatre department of Lynchburg College as a one semester sabbatical replacement for their faculty
Designer/Technical Director. Designed and executed a major musical, dance concert and two studio productions.

• Introduced the design and technical theatre students to computer-aided design, large format scenic projection,
digital audio editing and other high tech approaches to theatrical design that were lacking in their curriculum.

Instructional Media Services Coordinator, 1996-1999

Randolph-Macon Woman’s College, Lynchburg, VA:

• Acted as an alternate Designer and Technical Director for the College’s Theatre, Dance and Music departments.

• Managed all campus media production services, utilized a student work-study crew to provide videography,
digital audio production, multimedia authoring, web based image libraries, photography, graphic design, and
other media related services to the college community.

• Served as Instructional Technologist working with many academic departments in developing on-line course
materials, self-assessment programs, study guides and multi-media presentations to supplement lectures.

• Developed and delivered several workshops and seminars on digital media, classroom technology and distance
learning to educators through the Virginia Foundation for Independent Colleges, a Culpepper Foundation classroom
technology initiative and a regional tri-college consortium (R-MWC, Lynchburg College, Sweet Briar College).
• Worked on the early development of Tek.Xam, an assessment examination and certification device that measures
computer-technology applications and problem-solving skills in students across the liberal arts curriculum.

• Served as a principal in the development of a major theatre renovation project, a campus wide facilities use plan
and classroom technology improvements covering one third of the existing classroom spaces.

Resident Designer/Technical Director-Performing Arts Division, 1995-1996

Lynchburg Fine Arts Center, Lynchburg, VA:

• Designed and executed, with the aid of student interns and volunteers, scenery, lighting and sound for the
mainstage season at a multidisciplinary community fine arts center.

• Acting as house Technical Director, managed and realized all staging requirements for a rental schedule
that ranged from lectures to children's theatre touring groups to rock concerts.

• Provided technical support for other Center divisions/events, acted as technical consultant or freelance
designer/technician for other non-profit and educational groups in the region.

• Corrected many technical and safety deficiencies at the Center and worked with a capital improvement
committee to establish long-range retrofit, repair and maintenance plans.

Resident Scenic/Lighting Designer–Production Instructor, Summer 1994

Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School, Steamboat Springs, CO:

• Designed scenery, lighting and executed scenic painting for a seven show summer stock season.

• Shows included Children’s Theatre, American Musical Theatre, Dance concerts and eclectic Performance Art.

• Shared supervision and classroom instruction of college and high school interns with resident Technical Director.

Instructional Associate–Theatre Technical Manager, 1991-1994

Tarrant County College (Northeast Campus), Fort Worth, TX:

• Designed and executed scenery and lighting for six Drama department productions and one Dance
performance during each academic year.

• Team taught courses on Stagecraft and Design, supervised student crews and work study assistants.

• Provided technical management and consultation for outside groups using the Northeast Playhouse.

• Coordinated overhire of local crew, load-in and rigging of scenery, installation of rented lighting,

Technical Director, Summer 1993

West Virginia Public Theatre, Morgantown, WV:

• Served as Technical Director for an Equity summer stock company using the facilities of West Virginia University.

• Oversaw seven member technical staff and instructed interns in all phases of work on scenery and props.

• Contracted and supervised overhire I.A.T.S.E. crews for load–ins, turnarounds and run crew.

Resident Designer/Technical Director, 1986-1991

Granbury Opera House, Granbury, TX:

• Designed and realized scenery and lighting for year-round Equity LOA stock company.

• Supervised work of technical staff and Summer college interns for an eleven-show season.

• Implemented maintenance and capital improvements for an 1886 vintage registered historic theatre
including an upgrade of the lighting system and expansion of shop and warehouse space.
