SECTION 8004) AND BETHLEHEM ORDINANCE NO.

3952 AS AMENDED.

WHEREAS, it is proposed to construct a garage at 258 E. Market St.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Bethlehem that a Certificate of Appropriateness is hereby granted for the work.

HISTORIC ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW BOARD

CASE # 1346– It is proposed to construct a garage at 258 E. Market St. OWNER: Bross Family Trust et. al.

The HARB upon motion by Mrs. Sachdev and seconded by Ms. Starbuck adopted the proposal that City Council issue a Certificate of Appropriateness for the proposed work described herein:

1.  The proposal to construct a garage at 258 E. Market St was presented by Christine Bell.

2.  The new garage will be constructed as presented with the following conditions and clarifications.

3.  The side walls of the garage will be 9 feet tall.

4.  There will be a single, 18 foot wide x 8 foot tall, smooth, wood composite garage door as shown in the sketch provided.

5.  The exterior will be sided with smooth fiber cement clapboard siding with a 4 inch exposure. The siding color and garage door will be Khaki Brown and the trim color will be Cobble Stone.

6.  The windows on the north side of the garage will be 2 over 2 wood, single hung windows with simulated divided lights (SDLs).

7.  The roof pitch will be 4:12 as shown in the sketch.

8.  The roofing will be GAF Slateline shingles with a shingled ridge vent. The color will be antique slate. The roof will have half round gutter and round downspouts. The gutter and downspouts should match the trim color of the building as closely as possible. White is not recommended,

9.  The foundation will be cement stucco over CMU or poured concrete.

10.  On the main house, the existing 2:12 porch roof will be re-roofed with the same GAF Slateline shingles with ice and water shield beneath.
