DISPLAY SCREEN EQUIPMENT (dse) RISK ASSESSMENT CHECKLIST

Under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007, all hazards associated with the use of display screen equipment must be identified and any risk to the health and/or safety of the employee must be assessed. All risk assessments must bein writing and a decision must be made as to what (if any) control measures are necessary to eliminate or minimise the risk.

A written risk assessment must be completed for every DSE workstationwhen:

  • the employee commences work or moves to a new workstation
  • the employee is experiencing problems with the workstation or their health
  • any other major change in the employee’s capability or workstation

To ensure compliance with the legislation, you and your Manager must complete the following risk assessment. This should be kept with the Safety Statement for your work area.
