FIREPOWER AWARD

CRITERIA FOR SELECTION/ELIGIBILITY

  1. Only American citizens are eligible for an award.
  2. As a general rule, awards will be made to members of the NDIA in Industry, Academia and Government. The Picatinny Chapter Board of Directors may consider exceptions to this policy with sufficient justification.
  3. Individualcontributions, over one or several programs rather than just the supervisory -executive positions that one occupies should be the primary considerations for nominating any individual. Persons of the management positions, which contributed directly to a successful project, may be considered.
  4. Only unclassified or declassified descriptions of accomplishments will be considered. A classified accomplishment that can be adequately described in an unclassified manner will be considered.
  5. Performance of an individual nominated for an award must directly relate to the mission of the Picatinny community. Such performance must be of outstanding merit and a significant contribution to defense preparedness.
  6. Nominees not selected in a particular year do not automatically carry over into the next award period.
  7. Incomplete submissions will not be evaluated for approval.
  8. Only Picatinny areas of responsibility will be considered under accomplishments.
  9. Nominees should have displayed recognized support of NDIA.

FORMAT FOR NOMINATION

  2. Membership in which NDIA Chapter.
  3. Attach nominee resume. (ONE PAGE)
  4. Description of projects, techniques, weapon systems, organizational or management accomplishments.
  5. Uniqueness of contributions or accomplishments.
  6. Impact on tactical or strategic operations, maintenance, research development, production, or management.
  7. Recognition of the accomplishment or contributions within the particular disciplines or management areas.
  8. Impact on safety, quality, productivity and/or cost.
  9. Years of Government or Defense related service.
  10. List of awards and formal recognition.
  11. Educational background
  12. Other considerations.

THE JOHN A. ULRICH LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

The John A. Ulrich award is a prestigious Project Management Award bestowed by the Picatinny Chapter of the National Defense Industrial Association. The award signifies a lifetime of achievement in managing high priority programs and is in recognition of LEADERSHIP; INTEGRITY; PRODUCTIVITY and success in FURTHERING THE PROGRAMS UNDER HIS AEGIS.

The award is presented annually. It is a pinnacle of honor and candidates are evaluated against the very highest of standards. The award is formalized with the presentation of a Medallion with a likeness of the eponym emblazoned on it.

FORMAT FOR NOMINATION

  4. Describe the projects and/or weapon systems which the nominee managed.
  5. Describe the role, which the nominee played. Give examples of how the nominee provided leadership through example, motivation and by setting and maintaining standards of excellence.
  6. Provide examples of the nominee’s personal integrity.
  7. Describe the nominee’s accomplishments in terms of ability to bring programs to completion and record of productivity.
  8. Describe the nominee’s furtherance of the overall program under his aegis.
  9. Past honors, awards and recognition.
