ADHERANCE TO SCOTLAND’S FOOD CHARTER FOR EVENTS METHOD STATEMENT

As part of the legacy of Glasgow’s 2014 Commonwealth Games, Scotland’s Food Charter for Events has been developed as the new industry benchmark standard for quality catering at events. The Charter places importance on standards of animal welfare; timescales from harvest to delivery; Product Assurance Schemes; seasonality and sustainability, and authenticity (e.g. products from Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) or Protected Designated Origin (PDO)).

All applicants applying to see food are therefore required to demonstrate how they adhere to the principals of Scotland’s Food Charter for Events.
