New Form 8888, Direct Deposit of Refund

News Release 2006-134 announces the release of Form 8888, Direct Deposit of Refund, is now available to view as a draft form. IRS has released this draft to give taxpayers the opportunity to give comments on its usage and design. If you are interested in sharing your thoughts with IRS, you have 30 days to do so. You can always share your thoughts at any time, but the deadline is used to help IRS make changes this year.

The form permits taxpayers to have their refund deposited into up to three accounts, including an IRA. The accounts do not have to be at the same financial institution.

Searching for “Form 8888” produces a copy of the news release. At the bottom of the news release is a link to the Draft Form and to a page where you can leave comments.
