NOMINATION CATEGORIES:

The Young Sisters Rising StarAward acknowledges the leadership potential and achievements of Aboriginal young women aged 30 years in all areas of the community including education, work, traineeships, scholarships and mentoring.

The Regional Award acknowledges Aboriginal women living and/or working in communities 100kms outside the Adelaide metropolitan area who are actively involved in contributing to their community at a local, regional, state, national and international level.

The Quiet Achievers Award acknowledges the many aspects of the community Aboriginal women contribute to that aren’t always upfront and vocal but contribute substantially either as a mother, sister, auntie, cousin.

The Shirley Peisley Award acknowledges Aboriginal women in the workforce from Government to Non-Government, Corporate/Business sector and the community. Influencing positive change for the Aboriginal in the workforce is often very challenging with little reward. So this award acknowledges the contribution of Aboriginal women in the workforce.

The Perpetual Gladys Elphick Award acknowledges Aboriginal women’s outstanding contribution to their community and exemplifies the spirit, resilience, leadership, drive and passion of Aboriginal women.

Please provide a maximum of 2 pages on the nominee outlining their achievements, experience and contributions to the community for the relevant category. We also request photographs of the nominee to assist with a presentation of all finalists at the awards ceremony. All photographs will be returned.

We encourage you to show support of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women living in South Australia by getting your nominations in early. Suggestions which will make your nomination count include your personal knowledge of the nominee; involvement in community life, programs, activities, personal interests, references, photographs and any newspaper articles if relevant.
