Job Purpose
· To ensure the delivery of an artistic programme in line with the venue’s business plan.
· To oversee appropriate advertising and marketing of said artistic programme ensuring attendance and income meet targets.
· To manage the marketing office ensuring it operates efficiently and effectively.
· To oversee the venue’s external communication through press, website and social media.
· Delivery of an effective and appropriate service to all service users, fairly and without discrimination.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. / Write the artistic programme strategy and plan to fit into the venue’s business plan.
2. / Responsible for ensuring delivery of the artistic plan ensuring the correct volume and range of shows are programmed.
3. / Responsible for all associated administration work relating to the artistic programme including venue booking forms, contracts, financial closure sheets and PRS.
3. / Produces and delivers audience development, community engagement and outreach campaigns in line with the venues business plan.
5. / Responsible for recruitment and line management of two employees and one intern.
6. / Responsible for all associated marketing and promotion ensuring appropriate quality, volume and range are produced and distributed to maximise awareness of the products.
7. / Work with designers and printers to produce the required marketing material.
8. / Where appropriate, work with external advertising companies to help promote the shows negotiating the best possible outcomes for the venue within the agreed finances.
9. / Oversee all departmental internal communication ensuring that all relevant departments receive the correct relevant information in a timely manner. Also take on board feedback from other internal departments and feed back into the programming team where required.
10 / Responsible for press contact and producing content for press releases for the artistic programme and also venue specific press releases.
11 / Work closely with the Charnwood Borough Council (CBC) Communications Department where any press related issues impact on or affect CBC or have a political interest.
12 / Take the lead role in the venue’s website and social media overseeing all related work ensuring there is a common voice and branding.
13 / Play a lead role in the annual pantomime project with direct responsibility for all associated marketing and advertising.
14 / Responsible for all associated expenditure and income budgets and deliver best financial practice to maximise financial return.
15 / Where appropriate oversee the CBC rules and process for procurement to ensure we have suitable suppliers and contracts in place.
16 / Produces monthly internal marketing and financial reports for the venue manager.
17 / Where opportunities arise create and sell sponsorship and/or advertising space to assist in the delivery of projects or to generate new income.
18 / Investigate other funding opportunities, such as community grants, and where appropriate make applications.
19 / Oversees specific venue-developed projects such as Show in a Week, Christmas lights switch on etc.
