Dear UIL Coordinators and Coaches:

We are proud to invite you to theSouth San Antonio High School’s Bobcat Classic to be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018. This tournament will include: Informative and Persuasive Speaking, and other academic events. Hands-on computer science, Poetry and Prose, and Debate willNOT be offered this year.We are using third-party original tests from HEXCO, ASW, and AMT.

As we did last year,we will be showing multiple movies throughout the meet in our state-of-the-art planetarium for any students interested. We hope you are able to attend.

Deadline to enter: Friday, February 10, 2018.

Late Entrieswill be accepted as long as the limits have not been reached through Wednesday, February 14, 2018.For late entries and questions, please email me.

South San Antonio High School’s Bobcat Classic

Tournament Information

REGISTRATION:

Begins @ 7:15 am on Saturday in the Cafeteria.Have your students immediately proceed to and remain in the cafeteria located west of the main entrance off of Barlite Blvd.It is imperative that we start on time.

LOCATION:

SSAHS is located at 7535Barlite Boulevard, San Antonio, Texas, close to IH 35 and Military Drive.Buses can park in our teacher’s parking lot (west side) which is located in front of the Aentering Boulevard. The cafeteria is located adjacent to the A next to our Library.

RULES AND REGULATIONS:

We want all teams to have a positive experience while at South SanAntonio High School.

  1. Competitors may not enter contest rooms unless accompanied by a tournament official.
  2. Food (including candy) and beverages(except water) may not leave the cafeteria.
  3. Competitors are expected to behave in a mature, respectful manner.
  4. Turn off all cell phones when entering a contest room.
  5. Competitors are expected to remain in the cafeteria when not competing or watching otherperformances.
  6. The gyms, track, and other fields are off limits.
  7. All SSAISD policies regarding vandalism and conduct are in effect and our campus police willhandle any violations of these policies.
  8. An adult sponsor must accompany competitors at the tournament.
  9. South San High School is a tobacco and drug free campus. Any violation of this policy will resultin campus police involvement.

MISCELLANEOUS:

  1. There will be a hospitality room in the teacher’s lounge located next to the cafeteria.
  2. Food, snacks, and beverages will be provided throughout the day.
  3. There will be a concession stand for students in the cafeteria.
  4. We will have a Tab Roomin A140 which is also located next to the cafeteria.
  5. Any questions or concerns must be directed to the tournament director.
