FUNDRAISING AND EVENTS MANAGER

Reports to:Chief Executive

Hours:37 hours per week

The role:

To develop, manage and review Open Sight’s 3 year fundraising strategy in order to build profile and maximise income. Your job will be to secure additional funding to enable the continuing work of Open Sight in its role as a provider of sight loss facilities through corporate and trust fundraising.

As Fundraising/Events Manager you will also be responsible for all fundraising events activities conducted on behalf of the organisation. You will oversee the management and development of a Fundraising and Events assistant. As a manager you will be expected to contribute to long-term planning and meetings as required.

Main responsibilities:

  • Generate increased income from existing sources
  • Identify and research potential funding opportunities
  • Develop a 3 year funding strategy
  • Take the lead on trust applications and writing successful funding bids
  • Identify and implement campaigns
  • Maintain and develop a donor database
  • Develop good relations with the media to spread our message and maximise opportunities to raise our profile
  • Search for and maximise publicity opportunities, making most effective use of the local press, the internet, county and national charity related events.
